8-Week DJ Workshop Program
Target Audience: Ages 12-25
Frequency: Once a week (2-hour sessions)
Week 1: Introduction to DJing & Equipment Overview
• Brief history of DJing: from vinyl to digital
• Overview of DJ setups: Turntables, CDJs, controllers, and software
• Hands-on session: Setting up equipment
• Introduction to cueing and basic transitions
Week 2: Beatmatching & Tempo Control
• Understanding BPM (beats per minute)
• Using pitch control and tempo adjustments
• Manual beatmatching exercise (without sync button)
• Practical session: Pairing tracks with similar BPMs
Week 3: Mixing Techniques & EQ Control
• Understanding frequencies: Highs, mids, and lows
• How to use EQ to blend tracks smoothly
• Transition techniques: drop mixing, fade mixing, EQ blending
• Hands-on practice with different mixing styles
Week 4: Tune Selection & Reading the Crowd
• Choosing tracks that complement each other
• Understanding genre flow and building a setlist

Week 5: Turntables vs. CD Decks – The Differences
• The mechanics of vinyl turntables vs. CDJs
